The Overbrook-Forbes Community Resource Centre is hosting its fifth Annual Charity Masquerade Ball and Silent Auction on November 1, 2008.  This year's event will be held at the beautiful Hampton Inn and Conference Centre.  As you know, this annual event raises essential funds to continue the much needed services of the various programs which our Centre offers to the community of North East Ottawa.  The programs and services include crisis intervention, counseling, information, referral to resources, emergency food program, emergency baby supplies, children and youth programs, community development initiatives and many more.

            Last year, the Masquerade Ball raised $20,000.  This year our fundraising goal is to exceed twenty-five thousand dollars, and we feel confident that with the continued support of our generous community we can achieve, or surpass, this ambitious goal.  Last year held a very special 25th Anniversary Celebration.  The Overbrook-Forbes Community Resource Centre was very proud of this milestone and we are extremely thankful that the community businesses helped us along the way.

            Last year the Centre provided crisis intervention services, as well as resource services nearly 4,159 times, responded to over 3,951 requests for food supporting 9,692 individuals, and made more than 36,000 contacts with children, youth, seniors and families through our various programs.

            The Masquerade Ball allows us to increase awareness of the work that we do and in turn we will likely see an increase in the number of people that become involved with our Centre, be it through accessing programs and services, volunteering or donating.
